One of the Hillcrest students in on a student visa which expires before graduation. He needs it to be immediately extended in order for him to participate in person in his graduation ceremony. If not extended, he will need to leave the country.

Two of the "T" translators' Mother Tongue Translators have only been working part-time during conferences on the translation project. They now say their people need the entire New Testament and have committed to working full-time. PTL!

Ps. 119:16

I shall delight in Your statutes;
I shall not forget Your word.

The translators for the "T" people write: Our Translation Seminar Starts this Tuesday! The translators asked for two specific young men to attend. They, indeed, are coming, along with some other "T" young men.

Deut. 18:18

I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

Deut. 20:4

for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

Our boys have turned out to be quite charismatic. We've lived here one month and it seems our house is always filled with their friends or they are out in the jungle with their friends. We are thinking of using this opportunity to begin a Bible study, like a Kid's Club, for them. Pray that this will become a reality.

Matt. 19:14

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

A family here is waiting to finalize their adoption. A home visit is needed, but there is no indication one is coming. Pray one does come and they can use the summer break to travel to Jakarta to finalize the adoption. They have been waiting a while and are told they must wait still longer.

Ps. 107:41

But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction,
And makes his families like a flock.

There are two families coming to look over the school and the living conditions. Pray they will find a home. Hillcrest needs teachers.

Phil. 2:23

Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me;

The high school principal needs a particular letter demonstrating approval before their visa can be issued. Again, this is a very important school need.

Ro. 13:1

Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

Two other teachers are having trouble raising support in this economy. This makes their return quite uncertain.

Phil. 4:17

Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.

An older couple's visa was also denied and they will need to leave the country. They are new teachers here. Please pray about this. Hillcrest needs teachers!

Ps. 92:14

They will still yield fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and very green,

Our director's visa was denied based on age. Please pray this will be resolved.

Ps. 71:9

Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.

A very close, and dear friend of mine is undergoing cancer surgery on April 5. Please pray the doctors will be able to remove all of the cancers. All surgery contains risks. Please pray for skill of the surgeons, nurses, and for the patient's recovery.

Matt. 8:13

And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.

One more translation project is nearing completion. The project is entering a phase where many challenges occur to impede the checking of the translations and bringing a New Testament to publication. Please pray the road will be made smooth and any bumps in the way will further bring glory to God and show the need to study His Word.

I Thess. 2:18

For we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, more than once—and yet Satan hindered us.

This past Sunday, we celebrated, with the rest of the translation community, the work of John and YunHwa Kim of South Korea. They have had a successful ministry with the Edopi people since 1983. Many people have become believers through their ministry and the church is sending evangelists to other communities as well. There is a team already in place to fill their absence, but it was bitter-sweet to see this couple leave for their home country. Praise the Lord with us for these godly workers.

Is. 52:7

How lovely on the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who announces peace
And brings good news of happiness,
Who announces salvation,
And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

All the names of people have been changed.
