We have found that reciting a Christian creed, especially within a worship service of like-minded believers, helps us to codify and ingrain our beliefs. It helps us to remember what are the basic tenets of Christian faith and connects with the church down through the ages. Imagine! Christians back in the 4th century A.D. were stating their faith through the Nicene Creed as we have done and as believers in generations to come will. Our faith doesn't change because God doesn't change.

The questions and answers which we have found in the various catechisms are a good hook to help explain basic teachings to others. When someone asks, "What is the purpose in Life?", it is very easy to answer, "Man's chief end [purpose] is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." That opens the door to showing a person how they may glorify God and have wonderful joy in that fellowship.
