"... now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? ...”
Luke 18:1 - 8
As with all change of administration, routines at the school have been altered. There is some confusion as students sort through new classrooms and teachers adjust to new schedules. Pray that things will smooth out soon.
Let all things be done decently and in good order.
A long-term faculty member of Hillcrest School, who rose to the position of Director was diagnosed with cancer this spring. He and his wife have returned to the US where he is undergoing treatment. Please pray for Tim that he may be healed. Pray for stamina as he undergoes a rigorous course of chemotherapy.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
Please pray for the high school as they go on their annual retreat to the beach. The dates for this are August 31 - Sept. 2. Pray for safety and also for the speakers who present the Word of God. Pray for the purity of the Word and willing hearts to receive it.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
I am mentoring another missionary. Our meetings have been disrupted by summer plans, but the daily schedules are almost stabilized again. Please pray that I will be able to meet and pray with her regularly and that our conversation will meet heart needs and together we will be more conformed to Christ's image.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, ... teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women... so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
I'm still hoping to travel to see my hematologist soon before it turns cold in the US. Please pray this can be arranged. On the main page, I've put some reasons why I wish to return to the States instead of seeking blood work done closer to Papua.
Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”
Praise for the Dedications of New Testaments and Bibles here. I’m pasting a list of the events onto the main page of our letter this month. This is a joyous culmination of decades of work. You all had a part in that by partnering with us to teach translators’ children.
But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.
Our son has begun taking his tuberculosis treatment. Please pray that his body will respond well to the medicine and pray, also, that his liver will remain strong under this onslaught of chemicals.
Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
In April, the Wycliffe group here had a conference. Everybody who attended, including ourselves became ill with what is assumed to be covid. Mike and I (Mary) did not really become better until just the past week. I was extremely fatigued. About two weeks ago, Mike went to a doctor and received some medicine which helped him. I began taking some of the medicines I had brought for covid from the US. We are both better now. Just this weekend I have gained my normal level of energy. Praise the Lord! Also, pray that we remain healthy.
O restore me to health and let me live!
Hillcrest School had all the grades covered at the beginning of this year. That was in doubt as a family changed their minds about coming to Papua only 3 weeks before August. The admin here had to scramble to find replacements.
The eyes of all look to You, And You give them their food in due time.
The oldest boy staying with us is Afin. He has been sick for the last week and things have developed enough to take him to the doctor. Please pray that his body responds well to the medicine and that he gets enough rest to help him be strong.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, ... who healeth all thy diseases;
Our youngest boy is Yem. Last year his grades were much less than desired. This year, he has the same teacher. Pray for him that his heart will change and he will be more diligent in his studies.
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
Our boys are now back with us after spending a month with their parents. They are now in the fifth and sixth grades and we’re beginning the fourth year of having them with us.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Please pray for our son-in-law. He is on an extended business trip in Europe. Please pray for his safety and that he'll return home at the proper time.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
The "K" New Testament is complete and the dedication is set for August 28. What a joyous time of celebration! The village is in the highlands and will involve an overnight stay and a hike. Please pray that those who wish to attend will be able to make the journey. It is good and uplifting to join in the festivities as people receive God's Word to study for themselves. FYI, Mary will not be able to make the trip. We're not sure if Mike can, but his schedule probably will not permit it.
You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia
